Put it on a tow truck and get it dropped off at the dealership ASAP, dont even bother asking who, what, how, why, just give the service manager the stare, he will understand, its their problem now, ask them for a free replacement vehicle in the mean time.
Lets hope yours is a non interference design engine If its a interference engine He will most likely blame it on a fault batch of belts rather than work performed Another case of low paid monkeys doing the work while the qualified expert oversees the monkeys and time costs money mentality running the service department.

The Senior Service Guy said that a "pully" had "just collapsed" and made a mess and will be probably 2 weeks away Im thinking some poor mechanic forgot to do the bolt up and it's come off tearing the timimg belt and associated hardware to bits I will be discussing "so who's paying for this" in the morning keep you updated f.

The dealer would have replaced the belt only and charged double the price that a non dealer would have charged to do it right. I can fit a cloydes improved kit including guides, tensioners chains etc. Wouldn't you have 5 years warranty on the vehicle anyway. Even if he did, they replace the least to keep costs down and dont forget the book should state a service average expected time cost most do and to keep time down, skip everything possible.
Ive seen cases where the fluid levels had not been checked. On 2 of my company car factory services through Toyota with a Camry and once at Mitsubishi with a Magna where i always stressed if anything needed changing if the car wont make it to the next service to do so, both dealers each once returned my car after service and the brake pads went metal to metal within a week.Timing Degree for 4D56???

Hi What are trying to do The pump timimng, valve etc. There should be a mark or a nick on the wheels, you bring you pistons up to no1 TDC then the cam rocking on number 1 there should be a timming mark there along with one the pump wheel and a marker on the block.
Line all these up then your set, after that turn the pump, after udoing the nuts, to advance or retard, 10deg past is about right but it will depend how you wont it set up. I do mine by sound. If you go to far youll either stall it or bad diesel nock, the quietest is best.

Tuning the 4D56 isn't difficult: turn up the fuel, turn up the boost, profit. If you don't go about it methodically though, you can waste a lot of time chasing your tail. This is my method, which hones in on the correct tune quite quickly, with the minimum of re-adjustment.

In order to ensure the timing is correct on a mechanical fuel injection pump, first rotate the engine to the top dead center TDC and engage the TDC timing pin with the camshaft gear.
Then remove the timing pin access plug from the injection pump and verify if the slot in the pin will fit over the timing tooth of the pump. Next, carefully replace the pump to correct the timing, adjusting and readjusting the timing pin and access plug in the injection pump. Lastly, disengage the timing pin from the camshaft gear.
You may want to read more about when to replace your timing belt for more information. Incorrect fuel injection pump timing leads to reduced performance of the engine and can cause engine misfiring or other less obvious symptoms.
